May Day March for Workers and Immigrant Rights
Several Northwest Immigrant Rights Project staff members participated in this year’s May Day march for Workers and Immigrant Rights, organized by El Comité and the May 1st Action Coalition. This year, an estimated 4,500 community members gathered peacefully to show their support for all immigrants.
At the rally after the event, I had the honor of speaking about the importance of defending and advancing the rights of immigrants. As a community, we must take action to support our friends and neighbors who are affected by injustices like detention, wage theft, and exploitation. My challenge is that we carry the momentum from this month’s rally forward throughout the year by saying “no more” to injustice.
