Direct Legal Services

Northwest Immigrant Rights Project provides high-quality legal representation at little or no cost to those in immigration and deportation proceedings. We prioritize the representation of low-income immigrants, people impacted by the criminal legal system, and people who face other forms of oppression.

We provide comprehensive immigration legal services, focusing on:

Survivors of Domestic Violence and Other Crimes: NWIRP assists immigrant survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking, and other crimes in gaining protection and legal status in the United States.

Asylum: NWIRP defends the human rights of people facing persecution in their home countries by helping them obtain legal status and safety through asylum.

Family Services: NWIRP helps keep families together by assisting with family visa applications and representing family members facing deportation.

Children and Youth: NWIRP helps immigrant children who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected, in gaining legal status and protection.

Citizenship: NWIRP provides assistance with citizenship and naturalization applications, particularly for individuals facing barriers such as disabilities or age.

Deferred Action and DACA: NWIRP helps undocumented youth apply for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which gives them work permits, a social security number, and new opportunities in work and education.

Detention and Deportation Defense: NWIRP provides representation in immigration court to those facing deportation who qualify under our laws for opportunities to remain in the United States.
