Here are the messaging points to mention to your senator:
  • I am asking you to support HB 2895 and to ensure it is passed before today's deadline.
  • The bill had strong bipartisan support in the House, with a vote of 92-4.
  • The bill will make everyone in the community safer by ensuring that all residents can contact law enforcement to report a crime.
  • The bill will help law enforcement agencies do their job.  That's why it is supported by prosecutors, sheriffs and police chiefs.  [If a staffer asks, you can tell them that the WA Association of Prosecuting Attorneys and WA Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs spoke in favor of the bill at the House public safety hearing].
